Josef Stoitzner (Vienna 1884 – Bramberg im Pinzgau 1951)

was an Austrian painter and graphic artist who focused particularly on landscapes and atmospheric scenes. His work combines realism with impressionistic influences and masterfully captures the light and mood of his subjects. As a member of the Vienna Secession, Stoitzner was part of an important network of avant-garde artists of his time. He was active in the Viennese art scene and presented his works at numerous exhibitions. Today, his works are represented in the Austrian Gallery Belvedere, among others, which honours his contribution to early 20th-century art.
