Djawid C. Borower
born in Cologne, is an artist who expresses himself in words and images. From 1982 to 1989 he studied art and philosophy in Cologne and Vienna. He works for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, composed theatre plays and produced plays for the Wiener Festwochen. He continued his work on text in painting. He created extensive series in which he combined image and language. They have been shown worldwide in galleries, museums and at several biennials.
In his current cycle "Art & Philosophy", he experiments with painting as a medium of learning. He engraves his thoughts into the wet oil paint and combines them with a multi-layered painting technique. This results in works that have both an emotional and an intellectual dimension. They want to be looked at, felt and read.
